Steak & Eggs Diet Diary: April 2025

Coconut Water
If I had to drink it, post-workout was the best time. For some reason, drinking it during or after meals made me hungrier, leading to overeating. And sometimes, drinking coconut water would make my stomach gurgle. It’s an incredibly effective electrolyte, far better than Gatorade, but sticking to fresh and clean spring water seems to save money and keep my appetite in check.


No Shampoo, No Body Odor
Started the No Shampoo (No Poo) challenge on December 1, 2024. It’s already been five months. Except for the shampoo service at the salon, washing my hair with just water has been enough to keep it from getting oily. If needed, I used natural soap. Additionally, I sometimes feel my nose completely clear. Body odor, foot odor, and bad breath have somehow disappeared. Absolutely phenomenal! I’m really starting to feel the truth in the saying that all diseases, health, and body conditions begin with diet. 

Cheese - Parmigiano Reggiano
While maintaining a carnivore diet, I tried adding cheese. I found that even natural cheeses were often pasteurized and most pasteurized cheese had a bitter taste at the end. This led me to study cheese a bit more. Among fresh cheeses, burrata was decent enough. However, Parmigiano Reggiano was an exceptional fit for me. This unpasteurized cheese is aged exclusively in Italy. Its probiotics and flavor are absolutely outstanding. The ultimate healthy snack. Considering its production, aging process, and health benefits, I’d willingly pay for it to eat it often.

  • For someone like me who doesn't absorb fat well, butter might be little problematic.

  • Notes: Woke up around 03:30AM because my heart hurt. I suspect two possible reasons: 1. I ate boiled meat cooked with too much cinnamon and ginger for two days in a row, or 2. I ate Parmigiano Reggiano that had been stored for too long (about three months or more, no mold visible). Cassia cinnamon stick is the most likely candidate. Went to bed around 11:00PM.

When eating freshly bought Parmigiano Reggiano raw, it starts with a distinctive cheesy aroma, followed by a yogurt-like taste, and finishes with a rich, creamy milk flavor. When cooked in a pan, the cheese loses its pungent aroma entirely, and a rich, nutty flavor comes through strongly. It goes great with honey and must pair well with wine. At $13.65 per pound, that’s a reasonable price. Went to bed around 10:30PM.

Is this the effect of focusing on having a unprocessed diet finally showing after about seven months? I mean, there were some cheating days. But right after waking up, my nose is always stuffy.
